Allergen information
Your safety matters more to us than any bake. Please read this before ordering, and always tell us about allergies in your enquiry.
Our kitchen is a home kitchen that regularly handles: gluten (wheat), eggs,
milk and nuts (including almonds in macarons). Even when an ingredient isn't in your recipe,
we cannot guarantee any bake is completely free from traces of these allergens.
The 14 regulated allergens
UK food law lists fourteen allergens that must always be declared. When you enquire, we'll tell you exactly which of these are in your chosen bakes:
Celery
Cereals containing gluten
Crustaceans
Eggs
Fish
Lupin
Milk
Molluscs
Mustard
Nuts
Peanuts
Sesame
Soya
Sulphur dioxide
Things worth knowing
- Macarons always contain almonds — they're made from almond flour and are never suitable for nut allergies.
- Most sponges contain wheat, eggs and milk; buttercream contains milk.
- Some decorations (sprinkles, chocolates, toppers) are bought in and may carry their own allergen warnings — we'll pass these on.
- Every enquiry form asks about allergies. If anything changes after you order, just tell us — we'd always rather re-plan a bake than take a risk.
